Workshop Title:  Restorative Justice Alternatives: From Punishment to Healing

Workshop Description:   Come experience and learn about the growing Restorative Justice movement.  We will hear stories from New Orleans and Seattle how these practices are taking root in various forms to address harm and heal relationships.  From alternatives to suspensions and traditional school discipline to court based restorative diversions to keep youth out of the criminal justice system, this movement is transforming the way we view accountability and true justice.

Tom Zolot:
Tom works as the Center for Restorative Approaches’ Program Coordinator. Tom is committed to most social justice projects, particularly those interrupting the school-to-prison pipeline. He also gardens in various projects and is a National Council member of the Fellowship of Reconciliation.  Originally from the West Coast, Tom studied Linguistics at University of California Davis.
